Code of Conduct

Quant UX Con Code of Conduct

Briefly: Quant UX Con is committed to being a harassment-free community that respects all individuals. In its first two years (2022 and 2023), the conference had zero reported incidents, and attendees often noted that the conference is exceptionally welcoming. The organizers are committed to ensuring that Quant UX Con is a welcoming, professional, and respectful community.

Introduction

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at Quant UX Con are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.

The Quick Version

Quant UX Con is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of employment, education, gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), national origin, political affiliation, or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, and social media. Quant UX Con participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers. Conference organizers may determine the status of any reported or observed violation at their discretion.

The Longer Version

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to employment, education, gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, political affiliation, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.

Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Sponsor staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

Reporting. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a conference organizer immediately. Use the Event chat to reach any committee member or email conference@quantuxa.org. Conference organizers will be happy to help participants contact online security or local law enforcement to assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.

We also expect participants to follow these rules at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events such as community watch parties.

Additional RingCentral Platform Community Guidelines

As an event hosted on RingCentral Events, attendees of Quant UX Con also agree to follow the Community Guidelines for Hopin. The Quant UX Con Code of Conduct is additive to the Hopin Community Guidelines for Quant UX Con events. In addition to reporting any concerns to the Quant UX Con organizers, attendees may report violations to RingCentral as in the Hopin Community Guidelines.

Thank you for your help to ensure Quant UX Con is a welcoming and supportive community!
