Quant UX Association Code of Conduct

Briefly: Quant UX Association is committed to fostering a harassment-free community that respects and welcomes all individuals. In all years to date (2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025) Quant UX Con has had zero reported incidents. Attendees often note that the conference is exceptionally welcoming. The organizers are committed to ensuring that our events are welcoming, professional, and respectful.

Introduction

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at Quant UX Con and other Quant UX Association events are required to participate according to this code of conduct. Community Watch Parties are not official Quant UX Association events, but to be listed by the Association, watch parties also adhere to this code of conduct. Organizers apply this code throughout Quant UX Con and other Quant UX Association classes and events. We expect everyone to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.

The Quick Version

Quant UX Con and other Quant UX Association events are dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of employment, education, gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, cognitive and physical abilities, ethical motivations, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), national origin, political affiliation, and technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any Quant UX Association venue, including talks, workshops, parties, classes, and social media. 

Participants who violate this code may be restricted or expelled from the conference or other event without a refund at the discretion of the organizers. Organizers may determine the status of any violation at their discretion.

The Longer Version

"Harassment" includes offensive verbal comments related to employment, education, gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, cognitive and physical abilities, ethical motivations, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), national origin, political affiliation, or technology choices; and includes sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, threats, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and persistent unwelcome requests of any kind, such as unwelcome physical contact, online messages, comments, or sexual attention. This applies both during our events and at other times as the organizers deem relevent, such as engaging with speakers and organizers before or after events. This is a non-exhaustive definition; conference and event organizers may respond as needed to novel or unique situations.

Participants who are asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.

Sponsors are subject to this policy. Sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Sponsor staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

Reporting. If you are being harassed, if you notice that someone else is being harassed, or if you have any other concerns, please contact a conference or event organizer immediately. At Quant UX Con, you may use the Event chat to reach any organizer; or email info@quantuxa.org. Organizers may help participants contact online security or local law enforcement to assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value our attendees and wish to maintain a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

We also expect participants, attendees, organizers, and sponsors to follow these rules at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events such as community watch parties and classes.

Additional RingCentral Platform Guidelines for Quant UX Con

As an event hosted on RingCentral Events, attendees of Quant UX Con agree to follow the RingCentral Events Acceptable Use Policy. The Quant UX Con Code of Conduct is additive to that policy. In addition to reporting any concerns to the Quant UX Con organizers, attendees may also report violations to RingCentral as specified in the RingCentral policies.
